Report of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee – Councillor Call for Action, Leadership Team, 16 March 2022
The three Earl’s Court ward councillors Cllr. Adourian, Spalding and Wade submitted a Call to Action to the Council, which went to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee in March 2021. The report was unanimously approved vy committee members along with the recommendations to go the Leadership Team and the Call to Action returned to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee in February 2022 for review.
Cllr Mary Weale, the chair of the Overview and Scrutiny committee asked Lead Members to return to the committee later in the year with a report back on their responses to the recommendations in the report.
This is important for the ward as it demands that a strategic plan of action is developed across departments and organisations to respond to the problems of ASB, drug dealing and overt drug use in the area.
This was followed by a further meeting chaired by Cllr. Mary Weale on Thursday 9 June with further representations from Leadership Team members. Further reports will be required by this committee in response to this report.
The next Overview and Scrutiny Committee to have the Call to Action on the agenda is Thursday 13 December at 18:30 in Committee Room 1, Kensington Town Hall.
